Hi, I’m Claire Hall, a journalist, public relations professional and award-winning travel blogger with more than 20 years experience working across these industries.

I launched my freelance business, Travel Influence, to help small businesses navigate the digital world.

As a NCTJ-trained journalist I know how to tell a story and as a CIPR accredited public relations professional I understand the importance of brand, relationships and conversations.

I have learnt my craft working at a regional newspaper, city council and international medical device company as well as an award-winning PR agency.

Freelance PR and content creation

For the past decade I have specialised in digital content creation and been contracted by in-house teams to deliver elements of their PR and marketing campaigns.

This has included a broad range of copywriting, social media planning and delivery, video editing and digital content creation to support small businesses, charities and tourism companies.

Alongside my career in media and PR, I have pursued my passion for writing by self-publishing three travel websites.

I launched my first independent travel blog, Tin Box Traveller, in 2012. It has won and been named as a finalist in multiple industry awards as well as ranking in the Vuelio Top 10 UK family travel blogs.

In 2020 I created the Devon with Kids website to meet a need for family-focused information about days out and holidays in the South West of England. This has led to a series of Devon colouring and activity books.

After a move to the Middle East, I set up my third travel website. Launched in 2024, Oman Wanderlust inspires adventurous travellers to explore this lesser known destination on the Arabian Peninsular.
